Give Your Troop the Opportunity to Earn a Storytelling Badge with a Published Middle Grade Author!

Eileen is a Girl Scout alumna, and writing teacher with experience leading virtual and in-person badge sessions and author visits with Girl Scouts nationwide. She is a program partner with the Girl Scouts of Nation’s Capital, Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey, Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes, and the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin-Badgerland. Eileen assisted the Girl Scouts of Nation’s Capital with their first ever girl led publication about climate change and gender inequality for World Thinking Day 2022.

Brownies: My Family Story Badge Session

In this 90-minute virtual or in-person badge session, middle grade author Eileen Moskowitz-Palma will help each Brownie explore their family stories, share where their family is from, complete a family story tree and share sentimental family objects.

Juniors: Scribe Badge Session

In this 90-minute virtual or in-person badge session, middle grade author Eileen Moskowitz-Palma will help your troop write a free-verse poem, create a short story, and write about a favorite Girl Scout memory. She will provide an easy to follow-road map for the troop to complete the last two steps on their own, which includes writing an article and an essay.

Cadettes: Screenwriter Badge Session

In this 90-minute virtual or in-person badge session, middle grade author Eileen Moskowitz-Palma will help your troop evaluate what makes a good script, come up with an idea for a story, get to know characters, and build the five parts of a plot. She will provide an easy-to-follow road map for the cadettes to complete their script and earn their badges.

 Seniors: Novelist Badge Session

In this 90-minute virtual or in-person badge session, middle grade author Eileen Moskowitz-Palma will help your troop evaluate what makes a strong novel, come up with a story idea, develop characters, and build a plot. She will provide an easy-to-follow road map for the seniors to complete their novel excerpt and earn thier badges.
