Eileen Moskowitz-Palma, a former elementary school teacher, is an alumna of Sarah Lawrence College’s The Writing Institute, where she taught novel writing for seven years. Eileen’s middle grade series, The Popularity Pact was published in 2020 at the height of the pandemic. As a result, all of her events with schools, libraries and book stores were cancelled. Eileen combined her love of teaching and writing to form a free virtual writing camp program to serve kids affected by the school closures. The response was overwhelmingly positive and the camps high in demand. Eileen brought her writing programs to Providence Children’s Museum, Sarah Lawrence College, the Rhode Island Department of Education, Thalia Kids Book Club Camp at Manhattan’s Symphony Space, the Orange County Children’s Book Festival, Scarsdale Young Writers Workshop, Watershed Rye Literary Festival, The Pelham Manor Club, and public libraries across the country. Eileen offers Girl Scouts Storytelling Badge sessions and is a program partner for the Girl Scouts of Nation’s Capital, Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey, Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes, Girl Scouts of Wisconsin-Badgerland and works with troops in the tri-state area. Eileen assisted the Girl Scouts of Nation’s Capital with their first ever girl led publication about climate change and gender inequality for World Thinking Day. Eileen was the 2022 guest editor for the Scrawl, Rockland Teens Write Contest Book.
